“I paint my own reality. The only thing I know is that I paint because I need to, and I paint whatever passes through my head without any other consideration.” –Frida Kahlo
My newest painting can be seen in the Juried All-Media Show at Crossroads Art Center in Richmond, VA. The group exhibition kicks off with an open house and reception on May 20 and runs through July 2.
“I must be a mermaid. I have no fear of depths and a great fear of shallow living.” –Anaïs Nin

Montpelier Center for Arts knows how to throw a lovely shindig! Last night’s celebration of art was simply lovely.
I had three landscapes in the show and they were painted together after I finished reading Great Expectations with my oldest son. We were also reading about “The Flying Dutchman” in preparation for Virginia Opera’s final show of the season. So between those two master works, inspiration came easily for these new pieces — marshes and maelstroms make for some fun daydreaming.
